The international contemporary art fair ArtVilnius, which celebrates its 11th edition this year, is the largest event of visual arts in Eastern Europe. Each year, in ArtVilnius, participate around 60 art galleries and 300 artists from 20 countries; the event attracts around 23.1 thousand visitors.
“We are very thankful to all our participating galleries and artists for understanding. By postponing ArtVilnius’20 to the end of August, we remain a summer fair. Our team continues to work responsibly on the forthcoming programme; we are looking for new forms and opportunities to unite our participants as well in the electronic spaces for broadcasting and communication of the fair. We are keeping the positive energy and looking forward to meeting everyone in Vilnius”, said Mrs. Diana Stomienė, director of the art fair and president of the Lithuanian Art Gallerists’ Association.
Due to the postponed date of ArtVilnius’20, the organisers leave the reception of applications open until May. Coupled with the fair, the “Night at the Gallery” event, that will invite you to visit a number of galleries in Vilnius and meet various artists for the fourth time, also moves to the end of August. Efforts will be taken to unite other cultural festivals and events in Lithuania postponed due to the virus. By supporting each other, the organisers of cultural events will work together to attract as many visitors as possible.
The 11th edition of international contemporary art fair ArtVilnius’20 will take place on 27–30 August at the Exhibition and Congress Centre LITEXPO. ArtVilnius patron – Vilnius City Municipality, sponsor – the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
