ARTVILNIUS’11 – The Second International Contemporary Art Fair

Art Fair ARTVILNIUS’11 presented a broad and representative panorama of contemporary art galleries.
In addition, the LITEXPO Centre provided space for board discussions, lectures, and video art sessions,
educational programmes for children and adults as well as exhibition of sculptures and installations Takas.
The Art Fair hosted 65 art galleries from 17 countries of the world, ranging from Almata to New York
Galleries from Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Germany, France, the Netherlands,
Croatia, Denmark, Portugal, Great Britain, the United States, the Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Japan presented
more than 1,000 works of art by over 300 artists.
The Art Fair was visited by more than 17,000 visitors or invited guests, including President of the Republic of
Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, Minister for Culture Arūnas Gelūnas, Vilnius
City Mayor Artūras Zuokas, etc. The event also enjoyed attention from international art experts, gallerists,
collectors, museologists, and art critics, large flows of local visitors and foreign guests interested in art as well
as special attention from the media.
